ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This charcoal and graphite study depicts an ancient tree in England.
England is home to thousands of ancient trees, many concentrated in historic royal forests, ancient wood pastures, and quiet churchyards. These ancient trees stand today as living, breathing witnesses to centuries of English history.
As a subject for artists, ancient trees are both fascinating and challenging and just so much fun to draw. This drawing took around 100 hours.
